On 16 October 2018, the Senate referred the allegations of political interference in the Australian Broadcasting Corporation to the Environment and Communications References Committee (the committee) for inquiry and report by 29 March 2019.

The committee requests an extension of time to report until 1 April 2019 to allow it to consider the evidence received and to conclude its deliberations.
