National Cultural Policy

On 30 January 2023, the Australian Government released a new National Cultural Policy, Revive: a place for every story, a story for every place. This policy is a five-year plan that seeks to revive Australia's arts, entertainment and cultural sectors.

On 8 February 2023, the Senate referred the National Cultural Policy for inquiry and report by 15 June 2023, with the following terms of reference:

To inquire into:
a) the National Cultural Policy released on 30 January 2023; and
b) any other related matters

The closing date for submissions is 9 March 2023.

On 13 June 2023, the Senate granted an extension of time for the report until 17 October 2023.

On 7 August 2023, the Senate granted an extension of time for the report until 1 March 2024.

On 28 February 2024, the Senate granted an extension of time for the report until 20 June 2024.

On 20 June 2024, the Senate granted an extension of time for the report until 26 March 2025.
