Information about the Bill
The Senate has referred this bill to the Committee for inquiry and report by 4 March 2004.
The purpose of the bill is to require the Government to ratify the Kyoto Protocol to the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change within 60 days of the Act's commencement and to require compliance with a number of related measures.
Submissions
Submissions become committee documents and are made public only after a decision by the Committee. Persons making submissions must not release them without the approval of the Committee. Submissions are covered by parliamentary privilege but the unauthorised release of them is not.
