Inquiry into the Clean Energy Legislation (Carbon Tax Repeal) Bill 2013 [No. 2] [Provisions] and associated bills

1.1        On 26 June 2014, the Senate, on the recommendation of the Selection of Bills Committee, referred the provisions of the Clean Energy Legislation (Carbon Tax Repeal) Bill 2013 [No. 2] and associated bills (the bills) to the Senate Environment and Communications Legislation Committee (the committee) for inquiry and report by 14 July.[1]

1.2        The committee notes that these bills contain identical provisions to those referred to the committee by the Senate on 14 November 2013. Following a full inquiry, the committee tabled its report on this inquiry on 2 December 2013.[2]

1.3        Therefore, the committee has resolved to reiterate the previous report of the committee on bills with identical provisions, that being the Clean Energy Legislation (Carbon Tax Repeal) Bill 2013 [No. 2] and associated bills.

1.4        The committee reports accordingly.
