About this inquiry

On 23 March 2017, the Senate referred an inquiry into the Human Rights Amendment Bill 2017 to the Senate Legal and Constitutional Affairs Legislation Committee for inquiry and report by 28 March 2017.

The closing date for submissions is 12 noon on Monday 27 March 2017.

The committee requests that any submissions made to this inquiry address new issues regarding this bill specifically, rather than duplicate the content of submissions received by the Joint Committee on Human Rights, which published its report Freedom of Speech in Australia on 28 February 2017.
