Unexplained Wealth Legislation Amendment Bill 2018 [Provisions]

On 28 June 2018 the Senate referred the provisions of the Unexplained Wealth Legislation Amendment Bill 2018 to the Legal and Constitutional Affairs Legislation Committee for inquiry and report by 6 August 2018.

The deadline for submissions to the inquiry is 13 July 2018.

About this inquiry

The bill would amend the Proceeds of Crime Act 2002 and the Telecommunications (Interception and Access) Act 1979 to enable participating jurisdictions, through a referral of powers, to share and gather information, and use a single unexplained wealth order to deprive criminals of their wealth.
