Family Law Amendment (Parenting Management Hearings) Bill 2017

On 7 December 2017 the Senate referred the Family Law Amendment (Parenting Management Hearings) Bill 2017 to the Legal and Constitutional Affairs Legislation Committee for inquiry and report by 26 March 2018.

The deadline for submissions to the inquiry is 7 February 2018.

About this inquiry

The bill would amend the Family Law Act 1975 to establish the Parenting Management Hearings Panel as an independent statutory authority to provide self‑represented litigants with an alternative to the court process for resolving parenting disputes.
