Administrative Review Tribunal Bill 2023 [Provisions] and related bills

The Administrative Review Tribunal Bill 2023 would establish a new federal administrative review body, the Administrative Review Tribunal. The Administrative Review Tribunal (Consequential and Transitional Provisions No. 1) Bill 2023 would repeal the Administrative Appeals Tribunal Act 1975 to abolish the Administrative Appeals Tribunal. Consequential amendments would be made by the second bill and a third bill, the Administrative Review Tribunal (Consequential and Transitional Provisions No. 2) Bill 2024.

If you made a public submission to the House of Representatives Committee on Social Policy and Legal Affairs, there is no need to provide the same material to the Senate Legal and Constitutional Affairs Legislation Committee. Should you wish to update and/or expand on your submission to the HoR Committee, you may do so in a submission to the Senate Committee.

The deadline for submissions is 7 March 2024.

The reporting date is 13 May 2024.
