On 4 February 2021, the Senate referred the COAG Reform Fund Amendment (No Electric Vehicle Taxes) Bill 2020 to the Senate Economics Legislation Committee for inquiry and report by 30 April 2021.

The committee requests an extension of time to report until 7 May 2021 to allow it to consider the evidence received and to conclude its deliberations.
