On 28 November 2024, the Senate referred the provisions of the Treasury Laws Amendment (Fairer for Families and Farmers and Other Measures) Bill 2024 to the Senate Economics Legislation Committee for inquiry and report by 30 January 2025.

On 30 January 2025, the committee agreed to extend the reporting date for the inquiry to the 31 January 2025.  

As the bill passed both Houses later that day on 28 November 2024, the committee is not inviting written submissions.
