On 22 June 2023, the Senate referred the provisions of the Treasury Laws Amendment (2023 Law Improvement Package No. 1) Bill 2023 to the Senate Economics Legislation Committee for inquiry and report by 24 July 2023.

The committee is conducting its inquiry and requests an extension of time to report until 28 July 2023 to allow it to consider the evidence received and to conclude its deliberations.
