On 1 December 2022, the Senate referred an inquiry into the provisions of the National Reconstruction Fund Corporation Bill 2022 for inquiry and report by 28 February 2023.

The committee is still conducting its inquiry and requests an extension of time to report until 10 March 2023 to allow it to consider the evidence received and to conclude its deliberations.
