On 14 March 2012 the Senate referred the following matter to the Senate Economics References Committee for inquiry and report:
An examination of recent developments in the banking sector arising out of the impact of the global financial crisis and subsequent events. The full terms of reference can be found

Submissions should be received by 31 May 2012. The initial reporting date was 31 October 2012.
On 30 October 2012, the Senate granted an extension to the reporting date until
28 November 2012.
The Committee is seeking written submissions from interested individuals and organisations
preferably in electronic form submitted online or sent by email to
economics.sen@aph.gov.au as an attached Adobe PDF or MS Word format document. The email must include full postal address and contact details.
