Textile, Clothing and Footwear Strategic Investment Program Amendment (Building Innovative Capability) Bill 2009
Information about the Inquiry
On 26 November 2009 the Senate referred the Textile, Clothing and Footwear Strategic Investment Program Amendment (Building Innovative Capability) Bill 2009 for inquiry and report.
The bill amends the Textile, Clothing and Footwear Strategic Investment Program Scheme 1999 to provide for a replacement scheme for the 2010-2011 to 2014-2015 programme years. The new scheme will provide grants to clothing and household textile designers and manufacturers in Australia who invest in innovation. The object is 'to foster the development of a sustainable and internationally competitive manufacturing industry and design industry for clothing and household textiles in Australia'.
Submissions should be received by 18 December 2009. The reporting date is 25 February 2010.
The Committee is seeking written submissions from interested individuals and organisations preferably in electronic form submitted online or sent by email to economics.sen@aph.gov.au as an attached Adobe PDF or MS Word format document. The email must include full postal address and contact details.
