Inquiry into the Government's economic stimulus initiatives
Information about the Inquiry
On 08 September 2009 the Senate referred the following matters to the Senate Economics Committee for inquiry and report.
The inquiry will examine the economic stimulus initiatives announced by the Government since October 2008, including the efficacy of the spending measures and their environmental impact, the costs and benefits of continuing the measures, whether changed economic circumstances warrant changes to the initiatives and their impact on interest rates and taxpayer liabilities.
Submissions should be received by 18 September 2009. The reporting date is 02 October 2009. On 30 September 2009,the Senate granted an extension of time for reporting until 27 October 2009.
The Committee is seeking written submissions from interested individuals and organisations preferably in electronic form submitted online or sent by email to economics.sen@aph.gov.au as an attached Adobe PDF or MS Word format document. The email must include full postal address and contact details.
