On 9 March 2005 , the Senate referred this bill to the Committee for inquiry and report by 15 March 2005 . While the bill deals with a range of matters, matters targeted for special attention concern changes to merger authorisation procedures in Schedule 1. Also of interest are the collective bargaining and third‑line forcing amendments in Schedules 3 and 7 respectively.
The Committee will be holding a public hearing regarding the bill on Monday, 14 March 2005 . The hearing will commence at 4.30pm and will be held in Senate Committee Room 2S3, Parliament House, Canberra .
Representatives of the Australian Competition and Consumer Commission and the Department of the Treasury will give evidence at the hearing.
