On 10 May 2007, the Senate referred the provisions of the Tax Laws Amendment (Small Business) Bill 2007 to the Senate Standing Committee on Economics. The committee is to report to the Senate by 6 June 2007.
The main objective of this bill is to make it simpler for small business to determine eligibility for small business tax concessions. It does this by establishing a single definition of small business. The bill also implements several 2006-07 Budget announcements, increasing the CGT asset threshold and the GST accounting threshold applicable to small businesses' tax obligations, and extending the roll-over relief available under the uniform capital allowance system.

Once the Committee accepts your submission, it becomes a confidential committee document and is protected by Parliamentary Privilege.
