On 9 March 2005 , the Senate referred this bill to the Committee for inquiry and report by 10 May 2005. The inquiry is expected to focus on Schedules 3 and 4. Schedule 3 amends the A New Tax System (Goods and Services Tax Act) 1999, ensuring that GST will apply where a non-resident enterprise supplies from overseas a right or option to goods, services or other things that are for consumption in Australia. These changes will particularly affect non-resident tour operators. Schedule 4 introduces the new mature age worker tax offset.
