Inquiry into the ownership arrangements of grain handling in Australia

INTERIM REPORT

Dear Mr President,

The ownership arrangements of grain handling in Australia was referred to the Rural and Regional Affairs and Transport References Committee by the Senate on 16 May 2013, for inquiry and report by 31 July 2013.

The Committee has received 14 submissions, and has held public hearings in Canberra on 18 June 2013 and in Sydney on 16 July 2013.

Accordingly, the Committee wishes to extend the reporting date to 30 August 2013. This will allow the Committee to take further evidence from key witnesses and to conclude its deliberations.
