On 27 February 2013 the Senate referred the following matter to the Senate Standing Committees on Rural and Regional Affairs and Transport for inquiry and report.

Issues related to beef imports into Australia. 

Submissions should be received by 08 April 2013. The reporting date is 17 June 2013. On 5 July 2013, the Committee tabled its first report and intends to investigate further an alleged biosecurity breach and intends to report on this important matter by the first day of the second sitting period of the 44th Parliament.
