Adequacy of Australia’s biosecurity measures and response preparedness, in particular with respect to foot-and-mouth disease

On 28 July 2022, the Senate referred the following matter to the Rural and Regional Affairs and Transport References Committee for inquiry and report by 8 December 2022:

  1. the adequacy of Australia’s biosecurity measures and response preparedness, in particular with respect to foot-and-mouth disease and varroa mite;
  2. response to and implementation of previous reports into biosecurity; and
  3. any related matters.

Submissions close on 26 August 2022

On 6 September 2022, the Senate granted an extension of time to report until 20 October 2022. 

On 27 September 2022, the Senate granted an extension of time to report until 24 November 2022. 

On 21 November 2022, the Senate granted an extension of time to report until 8 December 2022.
