On 26 June 2014, the Senate referred the Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Amendment (A Stronger Land Account) Bill 2014 to the Senate Community Affairs Legislation Committee for inquiry and report.

Submissions were sought by 29 August 2014.  The reporting date is 2 September 2014.  On 17 July 2014, the Senate granted an extension of time for reporting until 29 October 2014.  On 2 October 2014, the Senate granted an extension of time for reporting until 3 December 2014.  On 27 November 2014, the Senate granted an extension of time for reporting until 4 March 2015. On 2 March 2015, the Senate granted an extension of time for reporting until 25 March 2015.
