The fisheries quota system

On 7 December 2020, the Senate referred the fisheries quota system to the Rural and Regional Affairs and Transport References Committee (the Committee) for inquiry and report by 24 June 2021. 

On 13 May 2021, the Senate granted an extension of time to report until 20 October 2021. On 20 October 2021 the granted a further extension of time to report until 17 March 2022. 

The Committee recommends a further extension of time to report until 20 October 2022 be granted to allow it to consider the evidence received, gather more evidence, and to conclude its deliberations.
