On 19 June 2014, the Senate referred the Business Services Wage Assessment Tool Payment Scheme Bill 2014 and Business Services Wage Assessment Tool Payment Scheme (Consequential Amendments) Bill 2014 to the Community Affairs Legislation Committee for inquiry and report. 

Submissions were sought by 23 July 2014. The reporting date was 26 August 2014. On 26 August 2014, the Senate granted an extension of time for reporting until 27 August 2014.
