The Joint Standing Committee on the National Capital and External Territories will hold its first public hearing with the National Capital Authority (NCA) as the Committee’s biannual briefings recommence in the 47th Parliament. Biannual briefings with the NCA have been held regularly since 2009. Committee Chair Ms Alicia Payne MP said: “These public meetings provide an excellent opportunity to scrutinise the work of the NCA and keep Australians across developments and issues affecting our national capital, Canberra.” “The Committee intends to discuss a recent audit report of NCA procurement which was critical of its practices and recommended a range of changes for the NCA.
