Following a referral from the Minister for Regional Development, Local Government and Territories, the Hon Kristy McBain MP; on 7 February 2023, the Joint Standing Committee on the National Capital and External Territories commenced an inquiry into local government models and equitable revenue sources to support the Norfolk Island Regional Council.
The Committee invites interested persons and organisations to make a submission to the inquiry addressing the terms of reference by Friday 24 March 2023. Information that may assist in preparing a submission to the Committee can be accessed here.

Talking with the Committee
The Committee plans to hold public and private meetings to hear directly from people who want to contribute to the inquiry. The Committee intends to travel to Norfolk Island to hold meetings with the community. It will also hold a number of remote meetings via video and teleconference.
