On 18 February 2021, the Senate referred to committees the Particulars of proposed additional expenditure in respect of the year ending on 30 June 2021 [Appropriation Bill (No. 3) 2020-2021], the Particulars of certain proposed additional expenditure in respect of the year ending on 30 June 2021 [Appropriation Bill (No. 4) 2020-2021], together with the final budget outcome 2019-20 and the advances under the annual Appropriation Acts for 2019-20.
The Senate Community Affairs Legislation Committee (the committee) is responsible for examining the proposed expenditure of the departments and agencies within the Health and Social Services portfolios.
On 24 and 25 March 2021, the committee questioned officers from the Health and Social Services portfolios in relation to Additional estimates 2020-21.
On 3 May 2021, the committee will receive additional evidence from officers of both the Health and Social Services portfolios at a spill over hearing.
The committee requests an extension of time to report until 17 May 2021 to allow it to consider the additional evidence and to conclude its deliberations.
