Information about the Inquiry

On 18 June 2013 the Senate jointly referred the Homelessness Bill 2013 and the Homelessness (Consequential Amendments) Bill 2013 for inquiry and report.

The closing date for submissions has not yet been set - please check this website for updates. The reporting date is 25 June 2013. On  25 June 2013, the Senate granted an extension of time for reporting until 20 August 2013.

Please note: In view of the calling of the election and the prorogation of the parliament, the committee will not be reporting in detail on this bill. Should a similar bill be re-introduced in the new parliament, the Senate may refer it for inquiry and report.

Written submissions from interested individuals and organisations can be  submitted (preferably in electronic form) online or sent by email to community.affairs.sen@aph.gov.au as an attached Adobe PDF or MS Word format document. The email must include full postal address and contact details.
