Exposure Draft and Paid Parental Leave Bill 2010
Information about the Inquiry
On 18 March 2010 the Senate jointly referred the Paid Parental Leave and the Paid Parental Leave Bill 2010 for inquiry and report.
That on the release by the Government of any exposure draft of legislation relating to the implementation of its announced paid parental leave scheme, the document or documents stand referred to the Community Affairs Legislation Committee.
On 13 May 2010 the Senate, on the recommendation of the Selection of Bills Committee, referred the provisions of the Paid Parental Leave Bill 2010 to the Community Affairs Legislation Committee for inquiry and report by 3 June 2010.
The Committee has agreed to consider the Paid Parental Leave Bill 2010 with the Exposure Draft of the Bill and will report on the two references conjointly. Evidence provided in relation to the Exposure Draft will be considered and taken into account for both of the inquiries.
Submissions should be received by 11 May 2010. The reporting date is 03 June 2010.
The Committee is seeking written submissions from interested individuals and organisations preferably in electronic form submitted online or sent by email to community.affairs.sen@aph.gov.au as an attached Adobe PDF or MS Word format document. The email must include full postal address and contact details.
