National Health Amendment (Pharmaceutical Benefits Scheme) Bill 2010
Information about the Inquiry
On 16 June 2010 the Senate referred the National Health Amendment (Pharmaceutical Benefits Scheme) Bill 2010 for inquiry and report.
This Bill amends the: National Health Act 1953 in relation to: price reductions for certain drugs listed on the Pharmaceutical Benefits Scheme; price disclosure arrangements; and the collection of under co-payment data; and Health Insurance Act 1973 and Medicare Australia Act 1973 to make consequential amendments.
Due to the Federal Election, the Committee decided to extend the due date for submissions to 20 August 2010.
Submissions should be received by 20 August 2010. The reporting date is 26 August 2010.
The Committee is seeking written submissions from interested individuals and organisations preferably in electronic form submitted online or sent by email to community.affairs.sen@aph.gov.au as an attached Adobe PDF or MS Word format document. The email must include full postal address and contact details.
