The Senate, on the recommendation of the Selection of Bills Committee, has referred the provisions of the above Bills to the Committee for inquiry and report by 27 March 2006.

The Bills, Explanatory Memoranda, second reading speeches and Parliamentary Library Bills Digests may be accessed on this website via the link to 'legislation and documentation relating to the Bills'.

The reason for referral of the Aged Care (Bond Security) Bill 2005 and the Aged Care (Bond Security) Levy Bill 2005 is because the industry is unsure of the potential liability that they are signing off to.

The Committee invites written submissions addressing this issue or other issues which are of relevance to your organisation.
