Inquiry into the Tax Expenditures Statement

I refer to the Committee's inquiry. You may be aware that I called for submissions to the inquiry on 19 June 2015 and that the Committee has held two hearings to date.

The Committee recently reviewed progress with the inquiry and agreed there was scope to further promote it. I note that the current work plan for the Parliamentary Budget Office (PBO) states that a priority for the PBO is to engage with parliamentary committees. Therefore, the Committee today resolved that I approach you to request a submission from the PBO for the inquiry by Friday, 25 September 2015.

I note that witnesses can give evidence to committees without having made a submission. I expect that the Committee would be amenable to either you or the PBO appearing on this basis as well.
