2.2        The committee has decided to examine this instrument as part of its examinations of the Stronger Futures package of legislation.

Purpose of the bill

2.3        This determination specifies the Anangu Pitjantjatjara Yankunytjatjara (APY) Lands as a declared voluntary income management area and also specifies the APY Lands as an area in which the vulnerable welfare payment recipient measure applies.

2.4        The effect of the determination is that a person residing in the specified area, who is in receipt of a category H welfare payment, will be required to be subject to the income management regime.
