The House of Representatives Standing Committee on Social Policy and Legal Affairs held a Roundtable on Surrogacy to investigate the complexities of regulation of surrogacy, and issues faced by the increasing number of Australians who seek and use surrogacy arrangements.
The roundtable took place over two sessions. The first roundtable was held on Thursday, 26 February 2015 and provided an overview of the regulation of surrogacy with the assistance of relevant Australian Government departments.
Following this, the second roundtable, held on Thursday, 5 March 2015, looked more broadly at legal, social, economic, scientific and medical facets of surrogacy.
