Ending Indefinite and Arbitrary Immigration Detention Bill 2022

This inquiry lapsed when the Joint Standing Committee on Migration ceased to exist at the dissolution of the House of Representatives on 28 March 2025.

On 28 September 2022, the Selection Committee referred the Ending Indefinite and Arbitrary Immigration Detention Bill 2022 to the committee. The committee adopted the inquiry on 30 November 2022.

The committee has decided to accept submissions made to the previous Parliament’s Joint Standing Committee on Migration’s inquiry into the Ending Indefinite and Arbitrary Immigration Detention Bill 2021 as evidence for the current inquiry. Submissions can be viewed here.
