Murdoch Media Inquiry Bill 2023

On 11 May 2023, the Senate referred the Murdoch Media Inquiry Bill 2023, upon introduction, to the Environment and Communications Legislation Committee (committee) for inquiry and report by 16 October 2023. The bill was introduced on 13 June 2023.

On 16 June 2023, the committee was granted an extension of time for the report until 12 December 2023.

On 10 November 2023, the committee was granted a further extension of time for the report until 30 April 2024.

The committee requests a further extension of time to report until 10 October 2024 to allow it to consider the evidence received and to conclude its deliberations.
