Review of the re-listing of Ansar al-Islam, Islamic Movement of Uzbekistan, Lahkar-e Jhangvi, and Jaish-e-Mohammad as terrorist organisations

On 19 March 2015, the Parliamentary Joint Committee on Intelligence and Security resolved to inquire into and report on the Review of the re-listing of Ansar al-Islam, Islamic Movement of Uzbekistan, Lashkar-e Jhangvi, and Jaish-e-Mohammad as terrorist organisations.

Section 102.1A of the Criminal Code Act 1995 provides that the Committee may review a regulation which lists an organisation as a terrorist organisation and report its comments and recommendations to each House of the Parliament before the end of the applicable disallowance period for the House. The disallowance period is 15 sitting days from the day the regulation is tabled.

On 25 May 2015 the Committee tabled its report Review of the re-listing of Ansar al-Islam, Islamic Movement of Uzbekistan, Lashkar-e Jhangvi and Jaish-e-Mohammad.
