Further to AUSTRAC's submission in relation to ASIO's access to FTR information, I am enclosing a copy of a letter dated 22 April 1999 received today from the Australian Finance Conference, which is a member of our Provider Advisory Group advising further in relation to the position of the financial sector in relation to this access.

You will see that the letter refers to various aspects of the arrangements which meet with the approval of the financial sector and which we have ensured are incorporated in the draft Memorandum of Understanding.

Please let me know if you require any further information from AUSTRAC in this matter.
