Inquiry into the advertising and promotion of gambling services in sport

Information about the Inquiry

On 07 February 2013 the Senate referred the Broadcasting Services Amendment (Advertising for Sports Betting) Bill 2013 for inquiry and report.

Submissions should be received by 27 February 2013. The reporting date is 16 May 2013. On 15 May 2013,the Senate granted an extension of time for reporting until 28 June 2013.

The Committee is seeking written submissions from interested individuals and organisations preferably in electronic form submitted online or sent by email to gamblingreform@aph.gov.au as an attached Adobe PDF or MS Word format document. The email must include full postal address and contact details.

Due to the overlapping subject matter, the committee has decided to include consideration of the Broadcasting Services Amendment (Advertising for Sports Betting) Bill 2013 in its final report. It will not be conducting a separate inquiry on this bill. The committee is not calling for submissions for the bill.
