Membership of the Committee
Subsection 5(2) of the Parliamentary Joint Committee on Law Enforcement Act 2010 provides that:
That committee is to consist of 10 members, namely, 5 members of the Senate appointed by the Senate, and 5 members of the House of Representatives appointed by that House.
The Act also provides that the membership of the Committee lapses when
the House of Representatives is dissolved prior to the calling of a
general election. The Committee is re-formed when the new Parliament
meets after the general election.
