On 16 September 2024, the Senate referred the provisions of the Aged Care Bill 2024 to the Community Affairs Legislation Committee for inquiry and report by 31 October 2024. On 31 October 2024, the Senate granted an extension of time for reporting until 4 November 2024.

Submissions are sought by 30 September 2024.

The committee welcomes all input from the community related to the Aged Care Bill 2024, and is generally accepting of submissions received after September 30. If the submission portal is closed, submissions can still be sent via email to community.affairs.sen@aph.gov.au. All material received will inform the committee’s deliberations and its final report; however, the committee would advise that it is unlikely that individuals who submit after the deadline will be considered as witnesses for hearings.
