Recommendation

1.1To truly become a green energy superpower, no new coal, oil, or gas projects can proceed.

1.2This Government has continued to approve the opening and expansion of fossil fuel projects, despite clear evidence that no such projects are to be approved if we wish to reach net zero by 2050.[1]

Recommendation

1.3The Australian Government should lift national targets to 75 per cent by 2030 and net zero by 2035 to align with 1.5 degrees of warming.
