Clean Energy Finance Corporation (Abolition) Bill 2014

1.1        The Clean Energy Finance Corporation (Abolition) Bill 2014 seeks to repeal the Clean Energy Finance Corporation Act 2012 to abolish the Clean Energy Finance Corporation (CEFC). The bill also seeks to transfer the CEFC's existing contractual assets and liabilities to the Commonwealth to hold and manage.

1.2        The committee considered substantially similar bills in its First Report of the 44th Parliament and Fifth Report of the 44th Parliament.[1]

1.3                  The committee considers that the bill does not appear to give rise to human rights concerns.
