The committee has the power, under Standing Order 215(c), to inquire into the annual reports of departments and authorities within its areas of responsibility, as set out in the schedule presented by the Speaker.

The Australian Prudential Regulatory Authority (APRA) Annual Reports stand referred to the committee in accordance with this schedule. The committee resolved to conduct an inquiry into APRA’s 2018 annual report on 24 July 2019, and extended the inquiry to cover the 2019 annual report on 23 October 2019.
