Welcome to Parliament Diary.

Debate is scheduled today for the Civil Law and Justice Legislation Amendment Bill, which originated in the Senate as the responsible Minister, the Attorney-General, is a Senator. It is an omnibus bill, amending 7 acts and is required to correct legislative oversights, clarify appeal rights, and make other minor amendments. For example, an amendment to the Bankruptcy Act provides that a debtor who makes a false declaration through an electronic signature is liable to prosecution. At the conclusion of today’s business, the House will adjourn until Monday 10 August at 10am.

Question Time at 2pm.
