Inquiry into the provisions of the Civil Aviation Amendment (Relationship with Anti-Discrimination Legislation) Bill 2004

On 24 March 2004, the Senate referred the provisions of the above Bill to the Senate Legal and Constitutional Legislation Committee for inquiry and report by 30 June 2004.

The Civil Aviation Amendment (Relationship with Anti-Discrimination Legislation) Bill 2004 amends the Civil Aviation Act 1988 to empower the Governor-General to make regulations that are inconsistent with current Commonwealth anti-discrimination laws if the inconsistency in necessary for aviation safety.
