On 19 October 2017 the Senate established the Select Committee on the Future of Work and Workers to inquire and report on the impact of technological and other change on the future of work and workers in Australia. The committee is to report on or before 21 June 2018.

The committee has extended the closing date for submissions from 30 January 2018 to 20 February 2018.

On 19 June 2018 the Senate granted an extension of time for reporting until 15 August 2018.

On 15 August 2018 the Senate granted an extension of time for reporting until 12 September 2018.

On 11 September 2018 the Senate granted an extension of time for reporting until 19 September 2018.

The report was tabled on 19 September 2018.

PLEASE NOTE: The Select Committee into the Future of Work and Workers has completed its work. With the tabling of the committee’s final report on 19 September 2018, the committee has formally ceased to exist.
