The House of Representatives Standing Committee on Primary Industries and Regional
Services, chaired by Fran Bailey, MP, will hold a public hearing on
Friday 13 August in Melbourne , as part of its inquiry into primary producer access
to gene technology.
The committee is examining the capacity of Australian farmers to access the benefits of
gene technology and the future value and importance of genetically modified varieties.
Representatives from the following organisations will give evidence at the public
hearing:
- Victorian Government
- AgrEvo
- NUGRAIN
- Organic Federation of Australia Inc
- Australian GeneEthics Network
The hearing will take place in K Room, Parliament House, Spring Street,
Melbourne from 9.00 a.m to
