Inquiry into the Draft Offshore Petroleum Amendment (Greenhouse Gas Storage) Bill

On Monday 19 May 2008 the Minister for Resources and Energy, The Hon Martin Ferguson AM,MP, referred the exposure draft of the Offshore Petroleum Amendment (Greenhouse Gas Storage) Bill to the Committee for inquiry and report. The Committee is due to report by mid August 2008.

Written submissions addressing one or more of the terms of reference are invited from organisations and individuals interested in placing evidence before the Committee. Submissions are to be sent to the Committee Secretariat by 30 June 2008, and are to be prepared with reference to the guidelines on making a submission.

In order to facilitate electronic publishing of submissions, the Committee would prefer them to be emailed to pir.reps@aph.gov.au; or sent on disk or CD-ROM to the Committee Secretariat in Microsoft Word^® or Portable Document Format (PDF).

Its is anticipated that public hearings will be held in Canberra, 15-18 July 2008.
