PUBLIC WORKS—PARLIAMENTARY STANDING
COMMITTEE—REFERENCE OF WORK — C-17 HEAVY AIR LIFT INFRASTRUCTURE PROJECT
Mr Lindsay (Parliamentary Secretary to the
Minister for Defence), pursuant to notice, moved—That, in accordance with the
provisions of the Public
Works Committee Act 1969,
the following proposed work be referred to the Parliamentary Standing Committee on Public Works for consideration and report: C-17 heavy air lift infrastructure
project.

Recommendation 1
The Committee recommends that, in response to the views of the
Ipswich City Council that RAAF Base Amberley connect to the community water
supply, Defence consider the feasibility of this proposal, and maintain
dialogue with the Council on this issue.
Recommendation 2
The Committee recommends that the C-17 Heavy Airlift
Infrastructure project at RAAF Base Amberley, Queensland; RAAF Base Darwin,
Northern Territory; RAAF Base Edinburgh, South Australia; RAAF Base Pearce,
Western Australia; and RAAF Base Townsville, Queensland proceed at an estimated
cost of $268.2 million.
